I had an overall average stay at Connaught Lodge, which offered some great features like a lovely spa and decent room sizes, but various issues impacted my experience. Though I found the staff at reception and the restaurant to be friendly and helpful, the noise levels in my room and the breakfast quality left much to be desired. The location was convenient for the beach, but parking was a hassle, particularly considering the chaotic situation with available spots.

The room I stayed in was larger than average with a small desk and a cozy sofa. however, I found the walls paper-thin, allowing me to overhear conversations from next door. Additionally, the cleanliness was sometimes lacking; I even had rubbish left in my room one day.

Reception staff were excellent, responsive, and welcoming, which made for a good first impression. Unfortunately, other staff members were hit or miss. some were friendly while others seemed curt and inattentive. For instance, there was a long wait to get my table cleared during breakfast service.

The lodge is ideally situated close to the beach and town center, making it easy to explore. though the surrounding area felt a bit rundown, with some unsavory characters nearby at night. I appreciated the quick walk to the beach, but parking was a real hassle, particularly if visiting during peak times.
